Multispectral Imaging Across Ohio, presented by Andrew Mancuso, Preservation Officer and Naomi Langer, Digitization Technician at the Kelvin Smith Library of Case Western Reserve University.
The Preservation Services team of the Kelvin Smith Library at Case Western Reserve University was the first test institution to host MISHA, Rochester Institute of Technology’s NEH grant funded project to develop a low-cost, end-to-end multispectral imaging system. They spent the early months of 2022 learning how to operate the equipment and bringing it on a tour of other Ohio institutions, gathering multispectral data on rare collections items across the state, including manuscripts, artworks, and selected Ege leaves.
