  • 15 Mar 2018
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Main Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

Workshop Description: In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn how to visually identify the myriad of audio-visual types typically found in archival collections. These types include motion picture film, transcription disc recordings, audiotape and videotape. We will go over some of the history of these recording mediums including the basics of what they are made of and signs of deterioration.  We will not cover digitization or born digital topics.

Participants are encouraged to bring an item from their collection that they have a question about.

Presenter: James DaMico, Curator of Audio-Visual Collections, Cincinnati History Library and Archives, Cincinnati Museum Center

Workshop fee: A FREE seminar as part of the Ohio Preservation Council's (OPC) Quarterly Meeting
